Welcome to Alternative Answers
Gender Work in the Community

Alternative Answers have supported a NorthWest (of England) Community Association with their bid to the local council for work with troubled young men in the community.  We were asked to produce an arguments package to encourage the local council to fund work specifically with young men...

This was so well received by some councillors and youth workers present at the meeting that the same package has now been presented at 3 other major metropolitan areas in the NorthWest.

Site Opened Up

Up until now, you had to register to read the content on both The Word and the Science of Sound.  Not any more!  The site is completely open - You can access the entire site whether you are registered or not!  The best way to find your way around is to use the sitemap on the top menu.

Registration will now just get you on the email list to keep you up to date on new events and major changes etc. ( these are very infrequent).

Christianity and Science Agree!

The Bible tells us 'In the beginning was The Word'.  Science suggests that the 'beginning' was a bang, and a big one at that!   If we put it into the same language we have

"In the beginning was The Word" and

"In the beginning was The (big) Bang"

Here, we have clear and complete agreement that:

"In the beginning, there was A Sound"

How to use the new site
The new site is divided into sections, and each section has one or more categories.

To access all the features of the site, you will have to register.  See the news item 'Why Register' for more details of the benefits of registration

Some sections can be browsed randomly, others work more effectively if you read their content in order.  This is because some items depend on information in previous articles or topics.

The easiest way to view the site content is to use the 'Site Map'  option on the top menu where you are presented with everything in a handy list!

Liberty?
Liberty is presented to us as being a state of freedom.  However, freedom is not the only meaning this word has.  Its other meaning is to do with Taking License…..

The Oxford Reference Dictionary cites it in the first case as “freedom from captivity, imprisonment, slavery or despotic control’ and the second as “the right or power to do as one pleases”.

Liberty can only mean ‘freedom’ if everyone has the freedoms listed.  There is an inherent contradiction in this definition, since if one has Liberty in the second meaning of the word, they can withhold Liberty in the first meaning from another.

The Significance of Sound

How significant is sound? Consider these terms: Uni-Verse, Big Bang, Harmony, In-tune, a-tone-ment, In the Beginning was The Word, at-OM.

In these very simple words we have an amazing connection – that through different areas of human experience, from the specialisms of science and religion to the everyday experience of the average person – we all use similar terms when we reach the limit of our ability to think, experience or express ourselves. Terms related to Sound.
